Palabras clave para el estudio de las fronteras

Abstract

Además de unidades lingüísticas dotadas de significado, las palabras son vehículos de una diversidad de voces. Permiten decir, contar e intervenir, desarrollar y debatir, así como resolver o problematizar. Muchas de ellas resultan clave para el abordaje de un tema, porque constituyen herramientas centrales para la comprensión de sus sentidos o porque representan la llave de acceso y el instrumento de investigación que permite el desarrollo de ideas asociadas.

Esta iniciativa académica incluye una multiplicidad de palabras que dan cuenta de conceptos, objetos, temas, fenómenos, aspectos y relaciones. Todas ellas tienen su raigambre en los estudios sociales latinoamericanos y, fundamentalmente, en las relaciones sociales que dan origen y sentido a las fronteras.

Abarca 64 contribuciones, generadas por investigadores e investigadoras que desarrollan su trabajo en Latinoamérica. El repertorio presentado inaugura una posible lista de palabras a la que pronto se sumarán nuevas. La meta no es solo la de sistematizar la diversidad de instrumentos de conocimiento que se articulan en el estudio de las fronteras, sino también la de desafiar convenciones, impulsar debates y abrir nuevos caminos analíticos.

ABSTRACT. In addition to linguistic units endowed with meaning, words are vehicles for a diversity of voices. They allow saying, counting and intervening, developing and debating, as well as solving or problematizing. Many of them are key to approaching a subject, because they constitute central tools for understanding its meanings or because they represent the access key and the research instrument that allows the development of associated ideas. This academic initiative includes a multiplicity of words that account for concepts, objects, themes, phenomena, aspects and relationships. All of them have their roots in Latin American social studies and, fundamentally, in the social relations that give origin and meaning to borders. It covers 64 contributions, generated by researchers who carry out their work in Latin America. The repertoire presented opens a possible list of words to which new ones will soon be added. The goal is not only to systematize the diversity of knowledge instruments that are articulated in the study of borders, but also to challenge conventions, promote debates and open new analytical paths.
